I had a sketchy moment in a parking lot recently that reminded me how important situational awareness really is. Now I make a habit of scanning my surroundings, noting exits, and staying off my phone when I’m out. It’s not about paranoia, I am just being switched on before things go sideways. Situational awareness feels like a muscle, the more you use it, the sharper it gets. How do you keep yours tuned?

I practice "Baseline-and-Anomaly" (a buddy of mine always rattle on and on about this). So I notice the normal pattern of a place, then look for anything that is abnormal. I also try to mentally rehearse "What If" scenarios, like where I'd go if a threat appeared
