You don't have to be paranoid to be prepared

The people who mock preppers have clearly never been in a storm that knocked out power for a week. Having food, water and a plan isn't paranoia. It's just not being helpless.

Preppers get laughed at until the storm hits, the power’s out and they’re the only ones smiling with snacks in hand.

Exactly. Being prepared isn’t about zombie apocalypses, it’s about ice storms and losing your job. The folks laughing usually end up knocking on your door by day three.

During an ice storm, we lost power for five days. Between the generator, food supplies, and water containers, there jusr was a lot to manage. That experience made me realize preparation isn’t about fear...it’s about being capable when things go sideways.

Yeah, it’s not paranoia, it’s just not wanting chaos to decide your comfort level for you.
