I always say you gotta shoot the gun you carry. I need to trust it, know how it feels when it shoots, deals with recoil and works when it's not clean. I don't mean shooting a ton but I shoot a couple of mags every month to stay familiar with it. This helps me catch any feeding problems or worn parts early

Regular practice with your carry gun builds trust. You get better at controlling recoil and spot problems early

I learned this early on, my first carry gun jammed once and practicing often changed my whole approach.

it depends on the gun.
A revolver like the LCR, I'm not going to pound rounds through it all day. The design itself lends to its reliability. A revolver is 5 or 6 for sure. It's just a matter of knowing where they'll go.
Autos ..... different story. These critters need to prove themselves.
