I never understood the point of slings until recently

I always thought they were just for carrying, I then learned how to use one for shooting support and to be honest, it makes a huge difference for stability

I used to take off my sling as soon as I got to a stand, now I keep it on tight and use it to create tension for those tricky offhand shots. It's become a real tool for shooting, not just something to carry my rifle with.

Slings are like cheat codes, suddenly you’re steadier and feel way more professional out there

With your weapon carried muzzle down on your left, slip your left hand under the sling grabbing the forend.
While raising the weapon towards the target, rotate into firing position.
Not only does this present to your target in a flaming hurry, it also employs the slings stabilizing properties

That’s a classic move, it is amazing how much speed you get just from smarter mechanics.
