I went to the range for the first time last week and felt the nerves. The instructor walked me through the basics and I started me off with a pistol that doesn't kick too hard. Doing short practices and practicing without ammo helped me chill out but I am still having trouble with how I stand and hold the gun. Is there any tip for a newbie

Here's my advice: stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, keep your knees a little soft and lean forward a bit. Hold the gun tight but don't be too tense...and a pro tip is to always practice dry-firing at home to get used to it, you'll get confident quickly if you stay safe and consistent

Grip firmly but don't squeeze too hard. Focus on pulling the trigger smoothly

Hold high on the backstrap, put your hands close and thumbs forward to have a good grip. When you stand, lean in a bit, like you're pushing a door open
