What are you loading or shooting today?

For some reason, I always seem to have more than one project going on. Years ago, I bought a Savage 110F .30-06 from a buddy; I shot it a lot for a while, but it's basically been in storage for several years. At a gun show recently, I picked up an older tin of RedDot (in part because I wanted the tin for my collection ;^), and that got me thinking about "The Load" (13 gr of RedDot in a .30-06 case), which was something I had never tried. So I pulled out some 30 caliber bullets of different weights, some R-P brass, and loaded some test rounds with 10.9 gr of RedDot - the 180s did the best (50 yd bay at the range):

Fun to shoot - I'll have to load some more of the 180s, and try some other bullet & charge combinations, to use up the vintage RedDot!

Also just finished loading several hundred cast 9mm bullets I got cheap - 160 gr LRN, over Accurate #2 in once fired Blazer brass cases, using data from the Hodgdon web site. Kind of an interesting load, because the bullets are almost as long as the cases:

The Blazer brass works well; some other brands are thicker/heavier, and the cases bulge when those long bullets are seated. Pretty close to .38 Special ballistics, no leading to speak of, and cheap to shoot (for me, at least)!
