I put a compensator on my .30 and it really cut down on muzzle rise, which made follow-up shots faster and reduced flinching. The downsides are that it's louder, the blast spreads to the sides and it adds weight to the front. So make sure the comp matches your barrel's thread pitch and try out different ports for the best result.
 
Nice! I threw a comp on my .308 and noticed the same thing... shots were quicker and groups tighter, it's pretty loud, especially indoors
