My first gun purchase

I'll never forget buying my first gun, a Ruger 10/22. I walked into the store, heart pounding, and I spent way too long staring at every model. I then took it home, cleaned it obsessively, and couldn't wait to hit the range. What about you all? How did your first purchase go?

Mine was a mess, honestly. I walked into the shop thinking I knew everything from YouTube videos and ended up with a .40 S&W that kicked like a mule. I spent more time flinching than actually shooting for the first few months, I should've started with something like your 10/22 instead of trying to look tough :)

My first purchase was nerve-wracking too...I spent forever asking the shop owner questions. The anticipation before that first range trip was incredible, nothing beats that mix of excitement and respect.

Ha! That's hilarious and so relatable. YouTube University can be dangerous! I did something similar, I thought I was ready for a big caliber and basically scared myself off the range for weeks

That .40 will humble you real quick! The 10/22 is perfect for building fundamentals without developing bad flinching habits

Yeah right, that mix of excitement and nervousness is something special. I probably asked the shop guy a hundred questions too, there's nothing quite like that first range trip anticipation
