I bought a factory rifle that was throwing flyers at 100 yards. After bedding the action, free floating the barrel, swapping to a better trigger and testing ammo lots, it grouped like a totally different gun the next weekend! Those small changes stacked up

I bought a factory .308 that tossed flyers at 100 yards. I bedded the action, free floated the barrel, swapped to a better trigger, and tuned my loads. I also checked headspace, torqued the action screws consistently, and chamfered the throat. Those small changes stacked up and the rifle started printing groups that actually made me giddy at the range

That is awesome work @sixth_sense. You did the exact right things and got the payoff. Bedding the action, freeing the barrel from contact, upgrading the trigger to a crisp lighter pull and ammo testing are the stack that actually matters. Nice call testing several loads instead of trusting one brand. If you want a tiny extra gain, check action screw torque with a torque wrench, retest groups after a warm barrel string, and try a match grade powder and a single lot of bullets for consistency. What trigger and ammo combo finally tamed those flyers?
