Mine's a mess. I got random brushes and patches from different kits all mixed together. Half of it doesn't even fit the guns I own anymore, so I need to start fresh. What cleaning kit do you guys actually use and like?

I have a few kits, some made more sense than others.
If you have an AR, there are MSR kits that address these rifles extraordinarily well.
full kits for everything .... I had two, now absorbed into a greater collective. These don't really make as much sense as they might seem. Odds are, you barely use a third of whats in it and it provides you with a segmented cleaning rod to clutter a drawer. While I keep such a rod in the away kit, I am firmly entrenched in the school of the one piece rod. These kits are already depleted of any caliber of brush I actually use.
I have an absolutely pristine 338 bore brush .....

How I've come to address things ...
One piece rods are at the front line. bore brushes are purchased in bulk for the calibers I actually use. Patches are also by the truckload. Jags .... like brushes, in calibers I actually use. I tend to buy multiple. A pair and a spare.
Bore snakes are kept for the away kit, along with a few segmented rods.
pull cord / cable for the 10/22 and Marlin mod 60
Solvent is G96 followed by brake parts cleaner and Mobil 1 0W20 full synthetic

Hoppe’s BoreSnake kit plus a caliber-specific jag and brush set is all you need. Those big box kits contains half that stuff you never touch.
